Learning to use the Camcorder

In this project you will learn to use the schools camcorder to record yourself as though you are a tv reporter. This can be as a news broadcaster or entertainment tv show. Everyone will complete their own video, yet work in groups to help each other record. Have fun and be creative with this. The objectives for this lesson include:

Activity Description:

  1. Each student is to select a favorite TV actor, actress, singer, artist or sports star.
  2. Students should try to find information about their special person. Books, newspaper/magazine articles, or the Internet are a few suggested resources.
  3. After taking notes, students should cross-reference their facts in approximately 3 different sources. If sources contradict each other, students should state that along with the sources.
  4. Students can also take a fiction point of view, but topics must be school appropriate.
  5. When writing the report, students should represent their actor/actress in a truthful and honest manner, being as accurate as possible.
  6. Students will report the facts (or fiction) while being videotaped.
  7. Appropriate clothing and outfits should be worn to match movie.
    For example, if you are a broadcaster, you should be in a dress clothes.
  8. Entire video should be school appropriate.
  9. No people or animals should be harmed in the making of this video.
  10. Video must be a minimum of one minute!!!!!
  11. Save as Learning_Camcorder_YourName. Go up to File/Share/To File on the menu. Be sure the title and movie description is correct. Save to your Documents/Multi-Media folder. After the video has successfully rendered, you will attach it to the Google Classroom assignment.
  12. Project is worth 100 points.
  13. Storyboard is worth 50 points.
