McTeacher's Night

October 7th is Tina-Avalon School's McTeacher's Night at Carrollton McDonald's. Administrators, teachers and OPTS will be assisting/working from 4 pm to 8 pm on October 7th. We will be featuring a special fun event that evening called "Holler for a Dollar"! There will be a tip jar where students or patrons can put in a $1 to hear Miss Rex or Mrs. Holcer holler for Tina-Avalon Dragons!!! In turn, McDonald's will donate a percentage of sales to Tina-Avalon School!

Also, as part of McTeacher's Night, area McDonald's Restaurants hope to help the new Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City's mission is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families. Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Room alleviate the worry and expense of finding a close, comfortable and affordable place to stay so mom and dad can be near. This can make a world of difference to a child bravely battling an illness. Last year, over 5,000 families stayed at one of the two Houses and Family Room inside Children's Mercy Hospital. In the past 3 years, 3,000 families had to be turned away that were in need of services. To address this growing need, a new 20 bedroom Ronald McDonald House opened across the street from two existing Ronald McDonald Houses. With an average length of stay of 10 days, this new house will serve 900-1,000 families each year! Please help stock this new house by donating items from the following wish list:
