FinalCut Pro - My Intro Video

Worth Even More points!!

You will be completing a short project in FinalCut Pro in order to learn some of its techniques.

When you get more familiar with FinalCut Pro, you will be required to complete a written story board about your project. You must always start with a game plan before you create your project, it will turn out much better and more organized if you do. However, we are simply learning about the iLife suite (iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD) right now, so we are just going to create for the fun of learning. Let's get started!

  1. (50 pts) Written story board about your project, approved by Mrs. Rucker BEFORE you begin your recording.
  2. (5 pts) Create a new Event called FinalCut_my_intro
  3. (5 pts) Create a New Movie with No Theme. Name it FinalCut_my_intro_YourName and select the FinalCut_my_intro.
  4. (75 pts, written introduction is worth 25 points) You will start out with an introduction where you introduce yourself using the Open Camera Import Window. We have microphones (Snowballs) that can be used to have direct vocal input that you are required to use. Audio input of you talking must be at least 25 seconds. Make sure the room is quiet and ask students to move if they are not to be in your background. Take pride in this project, it will be shown to other classes. You are to write out what you will be saying on the Google Classroom, click Create Google Doc so you can turn in your write-up. It is to be approved by Mrs. Rucker before you record. Here is an example of how you could start out. You can come up with something totally different if you wish.
    • "My name is Jane/John Doe and I am a sophomore at Tina-Avalon High School. I enjoy playing softball, basketball and cheering for our awesome boys basketball team. I am also actively involved in NHS, FBLA, FCCLA and FFA. I must admit that Multi-Media is my favorite class ever! I would like to share a few pictures with you of me spending time with my friends and activities I am involved in here at school. Here we go!"
  5. (50 pts, 5 pts for each picture) You are to include at least 10 pictures of you, or you with your friends using pictures from the yearbook file. You can use one or two pictures from Photobooth. You will need to import the pictures you need into iPhoto if you have not already done so.
  6. (20 pts Video from phone) You are to include video of what your life is like at home. Fun "home" video.
  7. Put some effort in this, do not just pick pictures at random. Make sure the pictures flow and are about you. To insert the photo into your movie, you drag the photo from the event up into the movie where you want it placed.
  8. (25 pts, 5 pts for each title) You are to include text Title on your slides.
You must have it on at least five slides, you can have it on more.
Drag and drop the title over the picture you want it to be on.
  9. (24 pts, 2 pts for each transition) You are to include Transitions for every picture. Do this last.
Drag and drop the transition in between the photos or video and photo.
  10. (10 pts) You are to include music and or sound effects. Bring in a song or use a song you already have loaded on your computer.
  11. (6 pts) You need to have an ending slide that says "This video was created by: Your Name". Be creative with it.
  12. (10 pts) Video is to between 2.5 to 4 minutes. NO MORE-NO LESS
  13. (10 pts) When the project is completed, go to File, Share/Master File/ go to Students/AAPublic/ AA_Multi-Media_2018-2019/2019_FinalCut/2019_FinalCut_my_intro
