The T-A FBLA Chapter Performs Great @ District 19 Contest 2020

The Tina-Avalon FBLA Chapter attended District 19 Contest at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe on Friday, February 14. The chapter performed very well competing in many different on-line, individual, team, skills and performance events. Junior, Haley Rucker, also came away with a District 19 officer position, Vice President of FBLA-PBL Relations, for the upcoming 2021 school year.

The chapter was awarded with several honors and medals with seven students qualifying for state competition at the Annual FBLA State Leadership Conference in Springfield April 19-21. For a student to qualify for state competition, they must place first in a performance or team event or in the top five with an on-line test.

The following students did an outstanding job placing in the top 5 in their performance or production event: 2nd Place, Morgan Brockmeier and Haley Rucker, Graphic Design; 3rd Place, Emma Suchsland, Introduction to Business Presentation; 3rd Place, Addison Crocket and Kadie Rounkles, Social Media Campaign.  

The following students did an excellent job placing in the top 5 in their on-line objective test event qualifying for state:  Wildcard, Trent Grossman, Agribusiness; 2nd Place, Maggie Brockmeier, Introduction to Business Communications;  3rd Place, Emma Suchsland, Introduction to Information Technology; 2nd Place, Reagin Haynes, Introduction to Parli Pro, 3rd Place, Reagin Haynes, Insurance and Risk Management.

Members worked hard in preparation for contest despite all of the miscellaneous obstacles in their way, such as the basketball, cheerleading, tournaments, and  FBLA fundraising balloon sales.  They look forward to the opportunity to compete at the next level. It is fun being a sponsor of such a good, hard working, ambitious group of kids. We are very fortunate to live in a community that is willing to dedicate their time in judging and helping members raise money to compete.

The Tina-Avalon FBLA Chapter attended District 19 Contest at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe on Friday, February 16. This year the chapter only participated in one performance event due to the fact there were so many snow days and students did not feel prepared for their performances. However, the chapter performed very well competing in many different on-line, individual events. Senior, Khloey Forst, retiring District 19 Vice-President of FBLA-PBL Relations, helped the other district officers run the conference and awards ceremony. Sophomore, Haley Rucker also came away with a District 19 officer position, Vice-President of FBLA-PBL Relations, for the upcoming 2020 school year.

The chapter was awarded with several medals with four students qualifying for state competition at the Annual FBLA State Leadership Conference in Springfield April 14-16. For a student to qualify for state competition, they must place first in a performance or team event or in the top five with an on-line test.

The following students did an excellent job placing in the top 5 in their on-line objective test event qualifying for state: Insurance & Risk Management, Reagin Haynes, Fifth; Introduction to Information Technology, Emma Suchsland, Fifth; Introduction to Parli Pro, Trent Grossman Second; Introduction to Parli Pro, Morgan Brockmeier, Third.

Members look forward to the opportunity to compete at the next level. It is fun being a sponsor of such a good, hard working, ambitious group of kids. We are very fortunate to live in a community that is willing to dedicate there time in judging and helping members raise money to compete.

The following students did an outstanding job placing in the top 5 in their performance or production event: 3rd Place, Morgan Brockmeier, Samantha Rounkles, and Haley Rucker, Broadcast Journalism; 2nd Place, Khloey Forst and Hannah Colliver, Business Ethics; 3rd Place, Jaclyn Hines and Addison Wilson, Introduction to Business Presentation.  

The following students did an excellent job placing in the top 5 in their on-line objective test event qualifying for state: 

4th Place, Aleeya Heussner, Advertising; 4th Place, Terryn Dodson, Business Communications;  1st Place, Joseph Johnson, Networking Concepts; 1st Place, Jacob Ashford, Securities and Investments.

The chapter was awarded with several honors and medals with 12 students qualifying for state competition at the Annual FBLA State Leadership Conference in Springfield April 24-26. For a student to qualify for state competition, they must place first in a performance or team event or in the top five with an on-line test.

The following students "Brought Home the Gold" qualifying for state by placing FIRST in their PERFORMANCE or PRODUCTION event:  Abbey Rounkles, Future Business Leader; Lilly Churan and Terryn Dodson, Publication Design; Aleeya Heussner, Heather Huffmon, and Lyndsey Todd, Social Media Campaign; Ammie Akzam and Caitlyn Heckman, Website Design.

At FBLA District 19 Leadership Contest our chapter was awarded with several honors and medals and eight students qualifying for state competition.  The following students did an outstanding job placing in the top 5 in their performance or production event: Caitlyn Heckman and Jadyn Lucas, 4th Place Business Ethics; Alex, Blane & Aleeya Heussner, 2nd Place Business Presentation; Terryn Dodson and Echo Essick, 2nd Place Desktop Publishing; Jacob Ashford and Derick Rucker, 3rd Place Emerging Business Issues; Lilly Churan, Johnathen O'Neal, Abbey Rounkles, 2nd Place Global Business; Joe Johnson, 4th Place Help Desk; Aleeya Heussner, 4th Place Sales Presentation; Dalton Condron, 4th Place Spreadsheet Applications; Ammie Akzam and Chris Corbin, 2nd Place Web Site Design.

Dalton Condron, Shelby Trussell, Joe Johnson, Caitlyn Heckman, Abbey Rounkles, Luke Churan, Lilly Churan and Terryn Dodson (in a straight to state event) will be competing at the Annual FBLA State Leadership Conference. For the first time ever, the three-day conference will be held in Springfield from April 12-14.
