Hy-Vee Scholarship
Hy-Vee is proud to support higher education and is encouraging students to apply for a scholarship! Hy-Vee is awarding 40 scholarships, each of $1,000, to high school seniors and college students - for a total of $80,000 awarded in scholarship monies. The scholarship award is payable in a lump sum to be applied to normal college expenses including tuition, room and board, book purchases and rentals. (Fees refundable to the student as well as entrance or application fees are not covered.) To be eligible to apply for a Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship, you may be pursuing any course of study but it must lead to a four-year college degree.
COLLEGE ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
Qualified students are eligible to apply every year.
You are eligible for consideration if:
- Applicant must have been employed at a Hy-Vee location (office, distribution, retail) or subsidiary location after June 1, 2013, AND
- Applicant must be classified as a full-time student in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year during time of application process, AND
- Applicant must be classified as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior at the time funds are disbursed.
You will need to submit by the February 10 deadline:
- A completed application form.
- Personal statement describing a time when Hy-Vee made a difference in your life and/or the life of your customer(s). Minimum of 300 words, maximum of 500 words.
- Resume listing accomplishments in academics, activities, arts and athletics, community service and future post-secondary plans
- Official transcript (with registrar’s seal), which should include present student status (for example, junior second semester), last semester’s GPA and cumulative GPA.
Personal reference letter from a professor, Hy-Vee store director or supervisor
